File Transfer protocols are being implemented as customer demand requires them. At the time of this writing, IND$File is supported for IBM 3270 hosts. IND$File has many existing uses in the IBM Mainframe environment.
For most file transfer requirements, a great number of FTP Clients have excellent functionality and are usually preferable to file transfer embedded in a terminal emulator.
Available options:
Default-no file transfer active |
File Transfer is not active |
IND$File 3270 Mainframe |
For IBM Mainframes -- available as a additional feature. When this is set for a host, when the user connects to a session, the file transfer icon will appear in the user's FVTerm actions. Clicking on this will provide the available options including selection of DFT or CUT mode. Users are expected to be familiar with the use of IND$File and if on a TSO session, at a TSO command prompt to initiate the file transfer(s). |
Future options will be implemented as demand requires--please expect that in most cases, FTP with a full-function client provides better support.
