User changes to defaults for such things as fonts, cursor style and so on can be stored at the client browser in local storage (a.k.a. cookies) or at the server.

Notes:
We recommend that if Windows Security, Azure AD or a custom User ID method provides consistent user identification that the Server be selected for the location. If the default user identifier or IP Address is active, then Client is preferred, as this will avoid problems with laptops or users that access from a site with Network Address Translation (NAT) which will result in multiple users "fighting" over the same preferences!
As with most web applications, the default for Flynet Viewer was to store user preferences in first cookies, then local storage.
With the introduction of the Profiles mode of configuration, the redesign of how preferences are managed enabled the development team to move the location of user settings to the server. This provides much better stability as well as portability device-to-device as well as different browsers.
