Inventu Viewer Microsoft Management Console Snap In

The session search view is valuable for large configurations when an identity framework (Windows Security, SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect and so on) is active so that a user's ID can be searched.

If a user has called for assistance in using an application or for a connection issue, it can be helpful to find that user's sessions.

NOTE:  For Clustered servers, best to use the Cluster View All Users List View since it shows all active users in alphabetical order across all defined servers.

To select, first Right-Click on the server an select Session Search:

 fvcp0017

This will display the Search options.  The default is User ID / LU Owner but if the user has other information such as LUName/DeviceID you can use that (or User IP Address).  Enter the search Text and click Search, then close the Search Parameters Dialog:

 fvcp0018

This will display only those sessions that match the search criteria: here 2 sessions have been found:

fvcp0019
