An Inventu Viewer server can be put on a Hold status, which will prevent new sessions from being started.  If there is a single server in your configuration this will prevent new user connections.  When a server is on Hold a new user connection will display this in the user's preferred language:

 

 

Hold is more valuable in a clustered environment, as you can independently hold servers in order to apply system updates and/or new releases of Inventu Viewer.

 

When a server is put on Hold, existing sessions will continue to work without any impact.  Once a user ends a session on a server being held, the active count will go down so you can monitor the held server, wait until active sessions go to zero and then perform maintenance.

 

To Hold a Server
