As discussed recently, you have a little list of things you plan on to make the Sync applet a little more robust. What would you think about providing the ability to dynamically turn it on/off? That way, if I knew I was entering a tricky screen transition, I could turn it on, and I could globally turn it off in every "real" screen to make sure it wasn't running for no reason.
