for those of us who are not as concerned about historic logs as we are about keeping the disk from filling, another option similar to the one we already have for log frequency would be very beneficial - it would be how old a log is before it's automatically deleted, and could probably be almost the same drop-down selection as the frequency with which you want to cut new logs - delete logs if they are older than a day, week, month, year, or never.

Sorry for the delay-- while we will put this on the list, it's probably not too high in priority-- any other options available?

sort of - as far as the http log, i just won't collect one - as for the trace_0.log, it just keeps getting bigger forever - not a good option.

Just realized that there is an easy fix for your trace_0.log growth issue.
As long as you have a log file name in your settings, Screensurfer will log errors to the *_0.log file for any sessions not being logged.
BUT, if you clear the log file root name completely so that it is empty, no logging at all will occur...so just blank-out the name in your settings and you won't have to worry about the log file.

I think that's what I'll do - thanks - I was thinking it would be nice to have the "header" information, which gives an entry at each startup with date/time and compiler version, but most of that (minus compiler version) is in the event log anyway.

Side note--compiler version is now same as the zip files during interim builds, so for example, it will now show something like "Version T1.3.28K" in all places, including the event log.
