What would be nice is to have the ability to append to a text file (using temail) instead of overwriting the existing file.

Just sneaked it into build 1.3.27 (next formal release). You will specify the profile as "diskfile" to always create new, and "diskfile_append" to create if it's not there, and append otherwise.
Test build available at ftp://ftp.ieinc2.com/pub/surfer/t1_3_27c.zip.
