Inventu Viewer+ Main Help

The IVSetup64.exe installation program is the first executable you will run.  It has two modes of operation: new install and update install.

New Install

During a new install, the startup logic of the installer will check all the configured components on the active Windows Server or workstation and it will offer to configure all needed and optional components.  The logic then will create the operational program folders as well as the initial configuration registry settings.

At the completion of the install, a checkbox is checked to run the Profiles Configuration page

The Profiles configuration page is loaded with a special parameter that triggers a New Host Wizard for the Host1 (initial host) and New Profile Wizard for the Profile created for Host1

The New Host wizard will provide a Wizard user interface for defining the first host connection as well as probe the target host available ports and then test connecting to the host

At the completion of the New Host Wizard, a prompt will lead to the new Profile Wizard which provides font and other style settings for the new Host

Update Install

Note that the Inventu Viewer installation framework supports installing both newer and older versions of the product, enabling the ability to go back to a prior version

During an update install, the startup logic detects an existing installation, and backs-up your settings while uninstalling the product

It then will run the internal installation which installs the different version files that make-up the product across the different folders

On completing the installation, backed-up files are restored as well as backed-up registry hives
