The Application Test Monitor is used to test generated Web Services that are in integration test.
When a Web Service is generated with the right options, as a web service is initiated, it will wait for an attach to a test monitor, which can be run from any PC that can make an admin connection to the target test server on the network.
Each web service transaction that has been setup as a monitored transaction will have a name; when you run the test monitor you provide one or more names you are ready to monitor.
With a running monitor listening for the right transaction name, and the transaction with that name running, the monitor is connected and:
•Each screen is viewed in a live terminal emulator inside the monitor
•Each planned set of keystrokes by the web service can be previewed
•Each enter key ([enter], [pf1] and so on) is also previewed
•The user of the Monitor can Accept or Reject the Web service planned keystrokes
•The user of the monitor can also interact with the terminal emulator to correct mistakes and keep the test working
•A recording and log including all steps and overrides performed is available at the completion of the monitored test
